Content: SURF Tour
Participants must bring their ID card or passport to access the SURF Datacenter.
Note:
This activity replaces the Linux introduction. In previous years, we spent two hours introducing Linux, but we found that most participants already had enough basic knowledge to follow the course workshops.
If you have no experience with Linux, please contact the coordinator before the course begins, as the large-scale computer systems used run on the Unix operating system.
Content : Hands-on training for Unix. All available large-scale computer systems are running the Unix operating system.
In this course you will be taught the basic commands, with some more advanced topics, to work with Unix. Besides, you will learn how to access Unix systems remotely from your workspace, which can be a computer system running Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux. |
